By practicing with Cats on Mats, you can be proud that you are also supporting local organizations which are committed to doing good in your community.
Cats on Mats directly supports the following groups on a monthly, recurring basis.
Lakeshore Humane Society, Inc.
The Lakeshore Humane Society, Inc. (LHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit open admission animal shelter serving the Manitowoc County area for over 45 years. The LHS mission is to ensure humane and compassionate treatment of all animals entrusted to its care, reunite lost animals with their owners, place adoptable animals in responsible and permanent homes, and extend humane education to the public. Although we receive a small amount of support from municipality stray contracts, we mainly rely on private donations and grants to continue our programs and work in the community. LHS cares for over 1,500 companion animals annually, placing over 900 animals each year in responsible, permanent homes.
Manitowoc Warming Shelter
We are a group of inter-denominational churches, organizations, and friends joining together to provide overnight shelter for any adults during the cold winter months. The Mission of the Manitowoc Warming Shelter is to provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental facility for any adult that finds themselves without safe and overnight shelter from December through March.
Community Dinners
Community Dinners is the signature mission program of First Presbyterian Church and Manitowoc Cooperative Ministry. Feeding America says that one in seven people in our part of Wisconsin are facing hunger. Food insecurity remains a problem for adults and children in our community. Community Dinners is one program helping to reduce hunger in Manitowoc. Community Dinners at First Presbyterian Church started in 2008 and has steadily grown since then. We currently serve about 200 free meals every week. We are serving meals every Wednesday from 5-6PM at First Presbyterian Church (502 N 8th Street in downtown Manitowoc).
Community Dinners at First Presbyterian Church shall serve meals to all people, along with hope, as we address hunger, mental health, nutrition, and spiritual needs. Community Dinners at First Presbyterian Church exists to feed body and soul. We believe that all people deserve to have a home-cooked meal in an atmosphere of respect, compassion, and friendship.
InCourage

We dedicated our agency to the belief that ” No one deserves to be abused.” In support of that belief, we offer a 24 hour, 7 day a week crisis line, a shelter home for women and their children; supportive counseling services; support groups; financial, legal, and medical advocacy; community education programs; child care; emergency transportation; follow-up services. One of our most important services is to provide support in a warm, friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere. Each person has the right to decide the next step. We provide information and options for people to make their own decisions.
